Wine tasting

I always love trying something new… and so, to make Monday night a little more eventful, Dave and I went wine tasting at a local culinary school… I never understood how much concentration is required to truly appreciate a flavorful wine… there is much you have to focus on… the smell, the swirling, the swishing, the taste… for when you pay close attention, you can see the deep scarlet cherry red, its velvet lushness, or the hints of butterscotch and vanilla… to the oak that the wine was processed in or even the delicate bitter sweet taste of citrus grapefruits and clementines… my favorite, a red wine called Purple Hands, which reminded me of a bright summertime spent in southern Spain…
